IDAHO
Idaho’s relatively-recent first come, first served queue system has it's quirks, but if you can be on the computer and pick up one of the over-the-counter licenses for deer or elk, they can be quite fun hunts.
Plus, the random nature of Idaho’s draw system means you can hop in and out each spring depending on your budget and time-availability each fall.
The Gem State has great quality in mule deer, and while populations are down (especially in the Southeast corner) it’s well worth trying to pick up a license if you are looking for an opportunity hunt.
