So You Want To Mule Deer Hunt in October? [PODCASTS]

One of Jaden Bales’ Wyoming mule deer taken on October 17th, 2020.

Some may know October as Polish American Heritage Month, National Cookbook Month, and Country Music Month. However, most western hunters will know its as the month of rifle mule deer hunting.

If you want to hunt the grey ghost with a rifle every year, chances are your seasons will land somewhere in the month of October. That’s because mule deer are no longer out in the wide open with velvet on their antlers nor has cupid struck them with the proverbial love arrow yet. Simply put, they are the hardest to find and hardest to kill with consistency in this timeframe.

These are some of the best, and particularly some of the most thoughtful of mule deer hunters and they talk about what leads to consistent success in the month of October.

Listen to these podcasts to get ready for your next October mule deer hunt.
